“This is a love story between two photographers, Sara and Albert, and the ocean and its creatures in Ningaloo Reef and Exmouth Gulf where they have been underwater photographers for four and nine years respectively.
Their mission has been to raise awareness of the need to protect the ocean and this part of the Indian ocean in particular. To this end, Sara contributed videography to Tim Winton’s documentary Ningaloo while Albert arrived in Exmouth with the dream of swimming with the biggest fish in the world and the giant humpback whales which calve each year in the Exmouth Gulf.
These two kindred spirits met while working at the Exmouth dive and whale shark company and now follow their subjects in their boat Zanzara, cameras always at the ready. In praise of their work and commitment I offer these two portraits to the Exmouth community.”

“Esta es una historia de amor entre dos fotógrafos, Sara y Albert, y el océano con todas sus criaturas, en Ningaloo Reef y Exmouth Gulf, donde han trabajado como fotógrafos submarinos durante cuatro y nueve años respectivamente.
Su misión ha sido concienciar sobre la necesidad de proteger el océano, y en particular esta parte del océano Índico. Con este objetivo, Sara contribuyó como videografa al documental Ningaloo de Tim Winton, y Albert llegó a Exmouth con el sueño de nadar con el pez más grande del mundo: las majestuosas ballenas jorobadas que cada año acuden a Exmouth Gulf para dar a luz.
Estos dos espíritus afines se conocieron trabajando en la empresa de buceo y tiburón ballena de Exmouth. Hoy les siguen a bordo de su barco, Zanzara, con las cámaras siempre listas. En reconocimiento a su trabajo y compromiso, dedico estos dos retratos a la comunidad de Exmouth.”
